Terms of Service

Welcome to The Meditation Timer. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Apple App Store Terms

If you downloaded the iOS version of The Meditation Timer from the Apple App Store, the app is licensed, not sold, to you. Your use of the iOS app is subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.

These Terms supplement the Standard EULA. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Standard EULA with respect to the iOS app, the Standard EULA controls.

2. The Service

The Meditation Timer is a personal meditation tracking app. It provides a timer, session history, practice statistics, and optional daily reminders. The app is provided "as is" for your personal, non-commercial use.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

The Meditation Timer may offer optional auto-renewing subscriptions to unlock additional features. If you purchase a subscription:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the then-current price.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device settings under Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Subscription prices are shown in the app before purchase. Prices may vary by region and may change from time to time. Any price change will take effect at the start of the next billing period after notice, where required by applicable law.

4. Your Account

You sign in with a passwordless email link. You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account. We are not responsible for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account.

5. Your Data

You retain ownership of any content you provide, including your display name and session data. By using the app you grant us a limited licence to store and process this data solely to operate the service. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users’ accounts.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except as permitted by law.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.

7. Intellectual Property

The app, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by The Meditation Timer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.

8. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, with all faults and without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

The Meditation Timer is not a medical or therapeutic service. It is a personal mindfulness tool. If you have health concerns, please consult a qualified professional.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, profits, or business, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the app.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. If you downloaded the iOS app from the Apple App Store, any liability related to the licensed application remains subject to the Standard EULA where applicable.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. You must cancel any subscription separately through Apple ID > Subscriptions.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

Except where the Standard EULA or mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Where permitted by law, disputes arising out of these Terms or your use of the app shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
